FAMILY FRIENDLY DENTIST IN CARDIFF

We welcome children and the whole family to Nicola Taaffe @ West Grove. Here at the dental practice in Cardiff, we hold a small NHS contract catering to our patient's children (under 18 years of age).

Visiting the dentist from a young age is important to give children the opportunity to adjust to the sights and sounds of the dental environment and, from an early age, starting to think about and care for their dental health.

Children lose their 'baby' or 'milk teeth' from 6 months of age. Routine check-ups can help reduce any problems from starting, plus the dentist can monitor how the child's teeth are growing and check on any future problems prior to the arrival of permanent teeth. Teeth are vital helping with a child's developing speech.

CARING FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

CHILDREN'S TEETH

A visit to the dentist can help to teach your child to brush their teeth properly, plus recommend the appropriate toothbrush and toothpaste.

Regular supervision is recommended to ensure they are brushing teeth correctly, twice a day!

The dentist can help parents and guardians to guide their children to achieve excellent oral health, as well as offering dietary advice.

If you would like more information about your children’s first dental appointment or want to book a family appointment so you can all attend together, please feel free to call Nicola Taaffe @ West Grove on 02920 453346.

DENTAL ANXIETY IN CHILDREN

Some children may find they are afraid of the dentist. Nicola and her team have looked after nervous patients, of varying ages and different degrees of anxiety, for over two decades. Nicola alone has helped thousands of patients receive treatment, and in some cases completely overcome their phobia.

If your child is afraid of the dentist, contact us today and talk to us about the situation. We're here to help.
